Foundation of our Transit System Plan. The Better Bus Program is a comprehensive bus planning and prioritization effort to improve operational efficiency, develop service and amenity priorities, and enhance the customer experience.

A plan to increase access and mobility options through the expansion of transit services, customer amenities, pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, and integrating transit-oriented development policies.

Through development of rapid commuter rail service, this project aims to connect the northern towns of Mecklenburg County and southern Iredell County to Uptown Charlotte.

The Silver Line is a planned 29-mile, 30 station light rail alignment from the City of Belmont in Gaston County, through Center City Charlotte and the Town of Matthews in Mecklenburg County, and into Stallings and Indian Trail in Union County.

The Gold Line is a 10-mile streetcar system connecting west and east Charlotte through Center City. The full streetcar line will connect all current and future rapid transit lines.
