Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. By entering the contest, you (“Participant”) agree to these Official Rules, which form a contract with you. Without limitation, this contract includes indemnity obligations on the part of the Participant and a limitation of Participant’s rights and remedies. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Contest entries are limited to one entry per person per survey. Transit System Plan Update Survey Gift Card Giveaway (the “Contest”) begins at 6:00:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on December 2, 2024 and ends at 5:00:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on January 8, 2025. Each completed survey counts as one entry into giveaway. The contest administrator’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the sweepstakes.

Eligibility:
The Contest is open only to legal residents living in Gaston, Mecklenburg and Union Counties of North Carolina who are at least 18 years of age when they submit their entry. Employees of the City of Charlotte (the “Sponsor”) and their immediate families (and those living in their same households) are not eligible to participate in the Contest. By entering the Contest, the Participant (you) agrees to these Official Rules and agrees to fully release, discharge and hold harmless the City of Charlotte and all of its past, current, and future officials, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims and causes of action (including, but not limited to, claims and causes of action for property damage, personal injury, or death) that may arise out of or that otherwise may relate in any way to: (1) the Contest or your participation in the Contest or (2) your acceptance, use, misuse, or possession of any Contest prize. Void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation. All Federal, State and local laws and regulations apply.

How to Enter:
The Contest will have five (5) winners, each of whom will be eligible for one prize. Participants can enter the Contest only by completing the Transit System Plan Update survey and submitting it. Each Participant must provide a valid email address in the survey to be considered for the giveaway. Multiple survey submissions from the same email address after the initial submission will be considered invalid.

Prizes:
Five (5) $100 Visa gift cards, one for each winner.
Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as determined at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason.

Contest Drawing and Notification of Winners:
Gift card winners will be selected at random after the survey has closed. Winners will be notified by email. A winner must reply by email within fifteen (15) days of the initial attempt to contact him or her in order to claim the prize. In event of non-compliance or, if a selected potential winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim prize, as required, or if the prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, an alternate winner will be selected, and the original winner will have no right to any prize or anything else.

Disqualification:
The City of Charlotte and its past, current, and future officials, employees, and agents (including, by example only, the vendor running the Contest) are, collectively, the “Released Parties.” None of the Released Parties are responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Participants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer, telephone transmissions, technical failure, jumbled, scrambled or misdirected transmissions, hardware or software malfunctions, emails being directed or interfered with by spam filters or comparable technology, or other error of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest, as solely determined by the judges, will be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Any attempt by any Participant to obtain more than the stated allowable number of entries by using multiple/different profiles or identities will void that Participant’s entries and that Participant may be disqualified. If disqualified for any of the above abuses, the Sponsor reserves the right to terminate entrant’s eligibility to participate in the Contest. In the event any portion of this Sweepstakes is compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor, which in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupts, or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at their sole discretion to suspend or terminate the Contest.

Tax Information:
All taxes and fees on prizes won are the sole responsibility of the winner.
